DEC
Welcome!
Dingwall Evangelical Church is a local independent church based in Dingwall, 15 miles north of the city of Inverness, which meets each Sunday at 11am in the Community Centre, Tulloch Street, Dingwall.
We believe that every person who attends has a contribution to make to the worship process and that everyone has their own gifts and talents which can be used. Our services are therefore fairly informal but structured. A praise group leads the praise items each week.
At present our main activities are:-
Sunday morning public worship
Sunday evening Family Time
Mid week meeting for prayer and fellowship.
We also believe that children are important and the first part of our service each week is given over to them before they leave and go to their own activities. You will find details of these on the separate sections for Sunday's Kool, etc. on the About DEC page.
About DEC
PRAYER MEETINGS
We believe that prayer is the key to all that we do so members gather mid week for a time of concentrated prayer covering a wide range of issues from local items right through to the type of things which are current on the news each week.
SUNDAY'S KOOL
This is the name we give to the work among our children. We believe, and the children agree, that Sunday at DEC is cool place to be with so much activity geared around them. Not only do they have their own activity on Sunday mornings but at our evening Family Time they have lots to do. Most of the children can be found at DEC twice every Sunday and are a very real part of all that we do as a family.
PRAYER CHAIN
Everyone at DEC believes firmly in the power of prayer and all that we do is surrounded by prayer. We have a weekly prayer meeting on a Wednesday evening when we pray through a range of subjects and also a short informal prayer time each Sunday morning before morning worship. In addition to these however we also have a prayer chain where urgent prayer items can be passed round by telephone and in a very short time a number of folks will be praying through whatever the urgency may be. Anyone reading this and in need of prayer is invited to contact us at any time and the prayer chain or our regular prayer meetings will support you. Simply email the pastor on the welcome page.
PRAISE BAND
Our worship each Sunday is led by a praise band and we try to keep up to date with modern praise songs but mix these with traditional hymns as well. At the present time we are in need of a keyboard player and if on reading this you feel led to find out about that position and feel that your talents could be used in that way please get in touch by emailing the pastor as per the welcome page.
RESOURCES
The Church also has an extensive range of Christian resources which it provides through a lending library which is on display each week. Items include books, CDs, Videos and DVDs . These items are being constantly updated and it there is something specific you require, simply email Fiona at the Newsletter email link on the Welcome page.

Elders duly elected will serve for life or until such time as they themselves wish to retire from or terminate that office, except for conduct which is not conducive to the Church's purpose in which case the remainder of the elders must be in agreement to exercise discipline which may lead to the termination of the appointment.
In addition there may be a secretary and treasurer appointed annually.

Congregational meetings so called will have the power to make decisions other than alterations to the Constitution.
FINANCE
All monies and property of the Church shall be applied to further the objects of the Church and for no other purpose provided that nothing herein contained shall prevent the payment in good faith of reasonable and proper remuneration to any employee of the Church and fees to professional and technical advisors or the repayment to office bearers of reasonable out of pocket expenses.
The treasurer shall keep proper accounts of the finances of the Church.
The accounts shall be audited at least once a year by an auditor or examined and certified by a capable independent examiner.
EXTERNAL PARTICIPATION IN WORSHIP
It will be the policy of the Church to invite speakers, singers etc from other churches, or organisations from time to time but any individuals or groups so invited will be subject to the approval of the elders.
ALTERATION TO CONSTITUTION
This constitution shall not be altered except at an Annual General Meeting and with at least four weeks notice of proposed changes having been given in writing to all members. Such changes would require a simple majority of those present at the Annual General Meeting.
CLOSURE
In the event of the Church ceasing to exist for whatever reason all funds and property/equipment held in the name of the Church shall be realised and after meeting any liabilities any balance remaining shall be donated to such evangelistic work as may be determined by the elders.

THIS WEEK’S SCRIPTURE READING – Romans Ch 3 vs 21-26 from The Message
God Has Set Things Right
21-24But in our time something new has been added. What Moses and the prophets witnessed to all those years has happened. The God-setting-things-right that we read about has become Jesus-setting-things-right for us. And not only for us, but for everyone who believes in him. For there is no difference between us and them in this. Since we've compiled this long and sorry record as sinners (both us and them) and proved that we are utterly incapable of living the glorious lives God wills for us, God did it for us. Out of sheer generosity he put us in right standing with himself. A pure gift. He got us out of the mess we're in and restored us to where he always wanted us to be. And he did it by means of Jesus Christ.
25-26God sacrificed Jesus on the altar of the world to clear that world of sin. Having faith in him sets us in the clear. God decided on this course of action in full view of the public—to set the world in the clear with himself through the sacrifice of Jesus, finally taking care of the sins he had so patiently endured. This is not only clear, but it's now—this is current history! God sets things right. He also makes it possible for us to live in his rightness.
THIS WEEK’S NOTICES.
- The last of our Family Time sessions for this term will be held tonight at 5.30pm in the Youth Kafe, Tulloch Street and we will conclude our current series of studies on Developing Your Shape to Serve Others. Please note there will be no Family Time meetings during the school holidays.
- Today is our end of term service for Sunday’s Kool and the children will receive their prizes. All of our praise items today are songs we have been singing during the year with the children. The service is informal and we hope everyone has a good time. Special thanks to Susan and Michelle for all the work they have put in during the year and also to the children for attending so well. Thanks also to Fiona for the work with the children at Family Time. Our children are so important to us all at DEC.
- Morning worship as usual next Sunday morning at 11am.
- Many thanks to all who attended the AGM on Wednesday evening, it was a blessed time of fellowship looking over the work of the last year. We give God thanks for His provision for us over the last year and look forward to the next one.
- One of the things which came out of the AGM was that we will produce a Special Edition Prayer Notes for use during the holiday period when there will be no weekly prayer meeting. We hope to have this ready for distribution next Sunday morning but in the meantime if you have any specific items which you wish included please pass them to Ian as soon as possible.
- The prayer meeting will be on Wednesday evening at 7.30pm in Jeanette’s house. This will be the last prayer meeting until after the holidays. Remember however that the prayer chain continues to operate at all times and if you are not currently on the prayer chain list and wish to be, please let us know and you will be included in the next edition. There are no prayer notes this week due to the AGM.
- Ian will be away on holiday covering four Sundays – July 12, 19 & 26 and Aug 2. During that time services will be arranged by Fraser and Rikki If any particularly urgent matters arise Ian’s contact details will be with Fraser.
- Details of this year’s Scottish Northern Convention are now available. Also available on the website at
